Go Campers vs CampEasy: which camper fits your trip?

Start with the exact van. Here, Go SMART manual meets CampEasy Easy Small. Heating, sleeping equipment and campsite power can change the practical cost of your trip before you compare rental quotes.

We may earn a commission if you book through Northbound, without changing your price. This is a comparison of published specifications and terms, not a first-hand vehicle test.

Plan the heater and the campsite together

If you choose the Go SMART manual and need its heater overnight, include powered pitches in your plan. Check the campsite prices with and without electricity and confirm hookups with each operator. A directory entry does not guarantee that a powered pitch is available.

If you need an automatic

Go SMART Automatic is a two-person camper with Webasto heating and an electric cooler. The CampEasy fleet lists Easy Auto as a larger, three-person Volkswagen Transporter. Compare these separately: the manual table does not describe either automatic category.

Choosing between the manual models

Easy Small is the more complete documented sleeping-and-cooling package. Go SMART manual remains worth pricing if you bring or rent suitable bedding and can arrange campsite power when needed. Neither set of specifications establishes which company gives better service or the lower total for your dates.

Fees and protection before you compare prices

Go Campers

The terms, clause 24 state a mandatory €10.50 charge per rental day regardless of route or insurance. That is €73.50 for seven rental days or €105 for ten; check whether it is already included in the quote.

The Basic insurance description states €3,500 body-damage liability. Confirm gravel cover and the water and chassis exclusions in the selected policy; do not assume they share the body-damage limit. An excess is possible liability after damage, not a routine rental fee.

CampEasy

The rental FAQ says taxes are included. Confirm every mandatory charge in a dated quote rather than assuming that an unlisted fee cannot apply.

The insurance page lists included CDW with 450,000 ISK self-risk, plus theft and sand/ash protection with zero self-risk. Further cover depends on vehicle and package. Conditional river cover for eligible 4×4s does not apply to Easy Small; road and usage restrictions still apply.

Terms and model pages checked 3 November 2026. Compare covered damage, exclusions and excesses in our campervan insurance guide. Both manual models here are unsuitable for an F-road itinerary.

Request two comparable quotes

  1. Use the same dates, pickup and return times, and refund option.
  2. Select the exact model and transmission, not just the company.
  3. Match insurance, extra drivers, bedding, cooling and other equipment you need.
  4. Confirm mandatory fees and transfer costs; do not add charges twice.
  5. Include powered campsite nights where your chosen heater requires them.
  6. Keep deposits and potential damage liability separate from trip spending.

Check both operators with the same requirements. We have not obtained matched live quotes or established a cheapest provider.

Frequently asked questions

Which is cheaper, Go Campers or CampEasy?

A matched quote is needed. Use the same dates, pickup times, refund option and protection, then include the sleeping kit and any other extras you need. Check whether Go Campers' mandatory €10.50 daily road charge is already included before adding it. This comparison does not establish a cheaper provider.

Does the Go SMART manual heater need campsite electricity?

Yes. Its model page specifies an electric heater used while connected at a campsite. The Go SMART Automatic is a different category with Webasto heating. Check the exact model in your booking and confirm a powered pitch for nights when you need the manual camper's heater.

Can I compare two automatic campervans instead?

Yes, but the sizes differ: Go SMART Automatic seats and sleeps two, while CampEasy Easy Auto seats and sleeps three. Compare those selected categories separately rather than applying the manual-model table to them.

Can Go SMART or Easy Small drive on F-roads?

These two-wheel-drive models are not options for an F-road itinerary. Go SMART is explicitly prohibited on F-roads, and CampEasy prohibits F-road use in campers that are not F-road classified. CampEasy's conditional river-crossing cover applies to eligible 4×4 models with the relevant package, not Easy Small.
